Maximalist
A hard turn from previous years is the switch from minimalist to maximalist vibes at events. No more sleek and simple weddings! This year we are seeing heavy patterns and textures. Floral prints, velvet, and over-sized floral installations have been seen across all our locations. If you aren’t picking up on it yet, the theme of 2024 events… the more the merrier!
Disco
Disco balls have been hovering around events for the last year or so but have more recently been incorporated more subtly. Mixing disco balls with florals, disco ball seating charts, and disco ball bar glass has been seen at many events in Omaha. Adding another element to this 70’s inspired glam is a way to make this theme unique to you; imagine desert disco, or pink cowboy disco! And obviously, you need one hanging above the dance floor.
Bold Colors
We have gone opposite in the trends of color from 2023 to 2024. 2023 was heavy in the monochromatic color schemes, white flowers, with a touch of champagne, classic. But 2024 trends are starting off strong with bold colors. We have seen vibrant colors and color blocking with warm yellows, reds and oranges. And let’s not forget the wedding color of the year, Marseille Bleu, an intense cobalt blue. Our recommendation? The easiest way to infuse these bold colors is florals and linens.
Cottagecore
Quaint, cottage inspired vibes have been coined as ‘cottagecore’ this year. This design revolves around a vintage and whimsical aesthetic, think mismatched bud vases fille with wildflowers. We think Bridgerton might be having a heavy influence on event décor this year. This design technique feels cozy and nostalgic, all at once!
Food and Drink Displays
Food and drinks are a necessity for any event, but the idea of incorporating these as part of your event décor is something that has sky-rocketed in recent years. Dynamic displays of charcuterie and gorgeous dessert tables have been all over our venues. Our favorite new idea: matching your color palette with your signature drinks. We assure you that no matter your wedding colors, there is a cocktail to match. Pulling your wedding vibes through the entire event, even down to the food, will make for an unforgettable evening.
Live Entertainment
Live bands are on the up and up! For years, DJs have been dominating the event scene, but 2024 seems to be projecting a turn toward bands taking the lead. A benefit to live bands is the personability of their members. We’ve seen trumpet players and singers on the dance floor with guests, leading to a more personal connection with the entertainment. Bands also give the guests a feeling of duality, they get to attend a wedding, dinner and a show!
From our perspective, 2024 has been the year of fearlessness. The drastic changes from previous years are apparent, and we cannot wait to see what the event producers of the future come up with. For now, we are living for these cottagecore disco dreams!
